Our chooks meet some very important people.

The Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, the Honorable Lily D'Ambrosio and our local Member of Parliament, Matt Fregon visited MWPS and make a special trip down to see our new chooks. It was the chickens first time in front of such important people and the media!

Training the chooks.

Our chooks are being trained to be friendly with humans. They are petted each day and are learning to go into their coop at 3.30pm so they are safe at night.

Students have begun feeding the chooks in small groups. We feed our chooks grains, seeds, layer pellets, fresh fruit and vegetables. We do not feed them onions or potatoes. They have lots of green grass and bugs to eat as well.

Presley is feeding them vegetable scraps that were left over from the Year 5 SAKG program.

The chooks LOVE their corn!

More vegetable scraps and corn for them.

As a special treat they are being fed watermelon.
