The science behind it.

HOMEMADE BOUNCING BUBBLE SOLUTION FUN

You can use your gloved hands to catch the bubbles and even bounce them!

WHY DO THESE BUBBLES BOUNCE AND NOT BREAK?

The sugar helps slow down water evaporation in the bubbles, which lets the bubbles last longer.

The oils on our hands can break the surface tension of the bubbles, causing them to pop. The winter gloves keep the bubbles from coming in contact with our skins’ oils, so they can bounce and do all kinds of fun things!

BUBBLE WAND

HOW TO MAKE A GIANT BUBBLE WAND:

You can easily make a giant wand by using two drinking straws, and a length of string or wool that is 6 to 8 times longer than the length of one straw.

Thread the string or wool through the straws, tie a knot, and you’re good to go!

You will need to put your bubble mix into a large shallow pan like a baking tray or baking dish to get all of the string wet.

Other things you can use for wands.

You can use just about anything to make a bubble wand, but start with these ideas and experiment later.

Plastic cup:

Punch a hole in the bottom to blow through.

Dip the large open end into the solution and blow.

Plastic soft drink bottles:

Cut the bottom off the bottle and dip.

Use the lid end of the bottle to blow you bubbles.

Pipe cleaners:

You can create just about any shape you like form a pipe cleaner, just make sure you keep a small section as a handle. Try with circles, stars or even triangles.

Plastic funnel:

This already has a natural shape for a bubble wand. Using the large end to dip and the small end to blow, this is a sure winner!

Coat hangers:

Twist cost hangers into interesting shapes for big bubbles

Drinking straws:

These should be small, but fast flowing bubbles. Why not bunch some together and see how many you can get. Dip and try!
