trees: growing from seed
Learning Intention: to learn how trees and plants grow from seeds.
Success Criteria: I can explain how trees and plants grow from seeds.
This week we move into SPRING!!!! The weather is getting sunnier, the soil is getting warmer and animals are having their babies.
This is a great time to start planting seeds. Seeds for flower, plants, trees and food crops!
Here are some different types of seeds that you can find at home!
apple seeds
pear seeds
tomato seeds
orange seeds
lemon seeds
Butternut pumpkin seeds
Jap or Kent pumpkin seeds
chili seeds
Or you can sometimes buy seeds at your local supermarket!
THE TASK
You are going to start growing your own plants for Spring!
Choose one or more types of pots to use (there are lots of examples below)
Fill the pots with soil, potting mix or seed raising mix
Put your seeds in the soil in the pots and cover them up with soil
Water your pots
Put your pots in a sunny place inside or outside
Make sure that you keep them watered....but not too much!
Watch them grow!

toilet roll pots
plastic bottle pots
you can put your egg cups in an egg carton
or you can plant your seeds straight into the garden
