Term 2 Weeks 5 & 6

PARK EXPLORERS

This fortnight we will discover the many animals that live in our parks in Victoria.

Learning Intention: To discover that parks are homes for our native animals.

Success criteria: I can explain which animals live in our parks and why parks are important habitat spaces for these animals.

The Task

What is a habitat? Watch the video to find out.

Who lives there?

With habitats ranging from desert to coral reef, tropical and temperate rainforests, rivers and grasslands, Australia is home to many of the world's most recognisable animals, including kangaroos, koalas, emus, platypuses, wombats and goannas. Our local, state and national parks provide safe habitats for our native animals, reptiles and insects. Here they can find food, shelter, water and partners or families. In a park, they are also protected by the law from being hunted by humans.

Create your own Australian animal, reptile or insect using things that you can find at home. Take a picture and upload it to your Seesaw.
