Description:
Geography
Geography is the study of places, people and environments and how they are interconnected. It explores how natural systems and human activities shape the Earth’s surface, creating patterns and change at different scales. The subject draws on natural sciences, social sciences and humanities to understand global diversity and complexity. Geography examines interdependence between people and environments and considers sustainability, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ environmental practices. Students use key concepts such as place, space, scale, change and interconnection to analyse issues. It develops skills in inquiry, fieldwork, critical thinking and data analysis, encouraging informed and responsible global citizenship.
