Consumables: $70 per annum 

Description: 

The Music 1 course is for any Stage 6 student with a desire to develop their skills in an instrument/voice – including students that did not study Music in Stage 5. Students will develop knowledge and skills about the concepts of music and of music as an art form through performance, composition, musicology and aural activities in a variety of cultural and historical contexts. They will develop the skills to evaluate music critically and gain an understanding of the impact of technology on music. 

Course requirements: 

• Course must be studied with: Nil 

• Course cannot be studied with: Music 2, Music Extension 

• Major work (s): Students will undertake core studies with externally marked components in performance, composition and musicology for HSC. HSC students will also choose one elective from Performance, composition or musicology with elective topics drawn from the HSC focus areas.   

• Course contributions will cover: specialist software subscriptions and consumables. 

• Additional resourcing requirements for the course: Nil
