Other Elective Courses in various languages can be offered in Stage 6 though distance education from the NSW School of Languages. The NSW School of Languages support student's learning through a diverse program of online learning materials, speaking lessons, video conferencing, online forums and emails. Study days are also a feature at the NSW School of Languages where students enjoy the opportunity to meet with other students and staff. Please Note: 

For completion of an application to attend NSW School of Languages, approval will be required from Inner Sydney High School. This process will include an interview with the student and their family.

Evidence of the following criteria will be needed for approval to finalise application with the NSW School of Languages.

 

Step 1 – Email the school at innersydney-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au to register your interest in the NSW School of Languages. The school will then arrange a time for an interview. All emails must be send by the end of Term 2 of every year. The interview will take place in Term 3 of every year.

 

Step 2 – During the interview the following criteria will need to be addressed.

o   Where applicable, bring supporting evidence such as reports, work samples and e-portfolios.

Secondary College of Languages


Students can also enrol in the Secondary College of Languages for access to languages that are not offered as Elective Courses at IN_SYD. This is a flexible, face to face option that takes place on Saturdays across one of the 14 campuses in the Secondary College of Languages.
