On February 28, 2024, the School Wellbeing Committee successfully conducted an orientation program focusing on counseling and anti-bullying initiatives. The program was held in the upper campus during the afternoon session and was attended by students from classes 4 to 6 along with their respective class teachers.
The orientation began with an insightful discussion on the essence of counseling, elucidating what constitutes counseling and distinguishing it from other forms of support. Students were briefed on various referral systems and acquainted with the diverse types of counseling available, emphasizing the advantages of seeking counseling when encountering challenges either within the school environment or at home.
In addition to counseling, the session delved into the critical subject of combating bullying. Students were educated on the definition of bullying, the different forms it can take, and were equipped with strategies on how to respond effectively should they encounter such incidents within the school premises. Furthermore, students were guided through the process of reporting bullying incidents, familiarizing them with the bully reporting form for prompt action and resolution.
It is anticipated that following this comprehensive sensitization program, students will feel empowered to seek assistance whenever they face difficulties, fostering a culture of openness and support within the school community. By actively engaging students in discussions on counseling and anti-bullying measures, we aim to cultivate a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to the holistic development of all individuals.
In conclusion, this initiative represents a significant step towards creating a nurturing educational setting where students feel valued, respected, and supported in their personal and academic endeavors.
