Equipped with this knowledge, the students left the conference hall, brimming with enthusiasm and a clear understanding of the tasks ahead.
Day 1 laid a solid foundation for the Innovation Tournament, leaving us optimistic about the exceptional ideas and solutions that will emerge from our talented students.
After an eventful week since our initial meeting, a group of four, including myself, gathered to review the proposals submitted for the Innovation Tournament. It was an exciting moment as we delved into the creative ideas presented by 15 teams.
The proposals underwent a thorough evaluation process, taking into account specific criteria. We carefully assessed the distribution of work within each team, recognizing the importance of collaboration and equal participation. The involvement of parents also played a role, as we acknowledged the significance of their support and guidance throughout the tournament.
The teams' ability to present innovative and out-of-the-box solutions was another crucial aspect we considered. We appreciated their efforts in thinking differently and addressing the waste management issues with fresh perspectives.
Language proficiency was also evaluated, as effective communication is essential for conveying ideas clearly and concisely. Additionally, we reviewed the teams' work plans, ensuring that they had well-thought-out strategies to implement their proposed solutions.
Finally, after much discussion and evaluation, we selected the top eight teams. These teams showcased exceptional performance across all the criteria and demonstrated immense potential to make a meaningful impact in our community.
The selection process was both challenging and rewarding, as we witnessed the dedication and ingenuity displayed by the participating teams. We eagerly anticipate the next phase of the Innovation Tournament, where these chosen teams will have the opportunity to bring their ideas to life and contribute to a better future.
Being a close-knit family of more than 70 staff members, communicating information in person can pose challenges. However, the buzz surrounding the Innovation Tournament managed to spread through our Official Telegram group, bridging the distance between us.
From the very beginning, the school administration was well-informed about the tournament, actively involved in the proposal submission process to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD). This ensured a seamless flow of communication and collaboration.

I too felt a wave of nervousness washing over me. How would I console and motivate those teams who didn't make it? Despite my preparedness, the reality of delivering disappointing news weighed heavily on me. Uncertainty clouded my mind as I struggled to find the right words to begin.
But gradually, I gathered my confidence and addressed the students, acknowledging their valuable participation in the tournament. Before revealing the results, I reminded them that only eight teams would move forward to the next phase. However, I reassured them that if their team didn't make it this time, there would always be future opportunities in similar tournaments.
Finally, the moment arrived. With a deep breath, I declared the results. To my delight, all the students accepted the outcomes with joy and enthusiasm. Their positive response filled the room, dissipating the initial tension and replacing it with a sense of appreciation and hope.
