During the morning assembly, the non-academic head Mr. Rinchen Norbu organized a prefect manifesto campaign where candidates presented their manifestos. The manifestos addressed various issues such as waste management, toilet cleaning, and behavioral management. The campaign aimed to elect the best candidates who can effectively handle these issues and help improve the school environment.

The coordinators of the English literary program organized an Extempore speech event. They invited all interested participants and conducted a rigorous screening process to select the final 16 speakers for the main event. They provided training to the selected speakers on how to deliver Extempore speeches, covering topics such as their idols and pressing issues like the benefits of social media. All the participants were well-prepared and delivered amazing speeches during the event. The principal handed over the certificates to all the finalists.

We are delighted to share that Alicia H Moktan, a student at our school, has been awarded the prestigious Mitsubishi Public Affairs Committee Award 2021-2022. This award is organized by the Bhutan National Commission for UNESCO with support from the National Federation of UNESCO Association in Japan. It recognizes Alicia's efforts to promoting UNESCO's objectives in Bhutan. The Academic Affairs Committee has presented the Annual School Plan to staff. This plan is a comprehensive guide that covers four domains and eighteen major activities, all of which are aligned with the school's vision and mission. The domains include Academics, School Environment, Leadership & Management, and Other Educational Programs. We believe that this plan will help us achieve our goals and continue to provide the best possible education to our students.

Samtse LSS has introduced a whole-school approach scouting program as part of its Annual School Plan. The program has been in place since the previous year and is observed every Thursday from 3:20 PM to 4:20 PM. This initiative aims to promote scouting activities throughout the school and encourage student participation. Students find the Scouting program enjoyable and engaging.

Samtse LSS celebrated World Water Day with great enthusiasm. The event was organized by the School Health Committee and UNESCO Committee. The theme for this year's celebration was "Accelerating the change to solve the water and sanitation crisis". The purpose of the event was to create awareness among students about the importance of water conservation and to highlight the need to address the global water crisis.

Samtse LSS held an inter-class volleyball tournament for boys and girls. The boys' final was between 8B and 7C, while the girls' final was between 8B and 7F. 7B emerged victorious in the boys' category, while 8F triumphed in the girls' category.

The school counselor and Mrs. Tshewang P Drukpa conducted an orientation for the staff on the school's Anti-bullying Mechanisms. The presentation, titled "Anti-bullying Mechanisms in Schools: Towards a Violence-Free School," aimed to instill foundational competencies and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment. At Samtse LSS, we are committed to implementing effective anti-bullying mechanisms that do not rely on punitive measures, mediation, or peer-led approaches.
