Please bring a small named bag with a named change of clothes (top, trousers, tights, socks, pants etc.). This bag stays in the nursery building and will only go home if clothes are wet, mucky or soiled.
Please do not bring anything else as all toys and equipment will be provided.
Dress appropriately for outdoor play - named waterproofs, wellies, coat, gloves and a hat etc.
Apply sun cream before arriving at nursery on sunny days. We can apply more throughout the day as necessary. Remember to provide a named sun hat too for the warmer weather.
We have a stock of waterproofs and wellies if your child needs them to enjoy playing outside in cold or wet weather.
Update (May 2025) - Children’s Bags
We would like to inform you of a change regarding children’s bags at the nursery. Due to ongoing concerns and health and safety recommendations, we have been advised that children’s bags should no longer be brought into the playroom. Unfortunately, our staff cannot check each child’s bag every morning as they are focused on prioritising the safety and wellbeing of the children in the playroom. With children and staff members having severe allergies, the presence of food, drinks, medication, and other items in bags presents a significant risk. Despite previous reminders via newsletters and direct communication, we have continued to find items such as sun cream, silica gel sachets, hand sanitiser, food, make up, medication, and creams in children’s backpacks, which can be dangerous if not properly managed.
To ensure the safety of everyone, we have made the decision to store all children’s bags in the family area.
We will provide designated space for each child’s bag, and we understand that some children may need access to their bags during the day, such as when changing. We’ve taken this into consideration and will make arrangements as needed. We kindly ask that your child’s bag contains only spare clothes and any comfort items (e.g., comforters), but please refrain from sending toys from home. We sincerely appreciate the families who have consistently supported us with these guidelines. Our goal is to keep all children and staff safe, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This will begin from Monday 5th May 2025.
