Their mission is the prevention and relief of poverty in East Lothian through the provision of emergency food, signposting services and ‘More than Food’ projects, working with service users and in partnership with our stakeholders. Compassion, care & dignity are at the heart of everything we do. We’ll always be there for anyone who needs our support, but we want to see a future where emergency food isn’t needed at all.

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity.
We help Scotland’s families to put children first, with practical advice and with support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, we support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.
We help Scotland’s communities to play their part in looking-out for and protecting children.
We listen to Scotland’s children and families. And when government or society fails to hear them or respect their rights, we speak out.

We make life easier for families where a child has a disability.
Based on a quiet street in Prestonpans, we offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us there.
