Students will select either the book face challenge or the mini project called part of me/part of you drawing
The Bookface challenge involves strategically lining up your face or body alongside a book cover that features a matching body part so that there appears to be a melding of life and art.
Students can use a book, a vinyl album, magazines, movies, etc
If the face on the book cover is the same size as your face, hold the book close.
If larger than your face, hold the book further away.
Get friends involved, to hold the book, take the photo, or to pose with you with their own bookface.

Book Face Challenge instructions:
Take a picture of yourself holding the book first. This is to avoid cheating or simply downloading images from the internet. We need proof that this is you doing something and not just an internet picture of a random person doing the book face challenge.
Use the book, album cover or whatever you are using to do this book face challenge. Make sure to match the book to your face or body to create an illusion of a seamless transition between the literary world and the real world.
Upload your pictures to the google classroom in the "Book Face Challenge section"
When you submit both of your pictures include the following information:
Your name, date, class period
Create a title for your book face photograph (For example if you were to hold up a book on Frankenstein, give your artwork the title "Frankenstein's Monster"
Describe what book you are holding
For this assignment, you will draw half a portrait and match your portrait to your face and or body
This is similar to the book face challenge except you are drawing your image instead of using a book
This is an option for students who cannot find a book to use or who would rather be more creative
Must use pencil and/or sharpie or markers. Make sure the image is visible when you photograph it. Lower grade pencils might be difficult to see in a photograph
The image does not have to be a portrait. It just has to be an image in which the student interacts with a picture and tries to blend the drawing with reality.
Here are some examples:
The images don't have to be realistic
More advanced students have the opportunity to show off! Work at the level that you currently feel comfortable in
