Industrial Technology
Grade 6 Industrial Technology Course Description
Students will explore a range of topics that may include: basic graphic design, measuring, transportation systems, machine and tool safety, and various mini-challenges. Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with computer software and output devices, basic machines, tools, and materials; to develop solutions to given problems. Students will advance problem-solving skills by applying the Technological Design Process to develop working solutions to problems.

Grade 7 Industrial Technology Course Description
Students will explore areas of machine safety and use product design and development, material selection, assembly techniques, basic electronics and apply them to a hands-on design challenge to further advance problem-solving skills. Students will also be applying the Technological Design Process to develop working solutions to problems. This will include designing and constructing a game design.

Grade 8 Industrial Technology Course Description
Students will analyze the steps involved in the manufacturing process. Students will focus on design, development, production, marketing, and servicing of products and systems. Students will demonstrate an understanding of jigs and fixtures. Students will continue to enhance knowledge in areas of machine safety and use, product design and development, material selection, and assembly techniques. Students will continue to apply the Technological Design Process to develop working solutions to problems.
