Job Shadow

A job shadow is an opportunity for students to explore careers by observing professionals in a real workplace setting. Students can learn about career pathways, workplace expectations, technical skills, and professional behavior by spending time with industry professionals during the school day.

Students who participate may earn one excused absence per school year for the purpose of going on a job shadow if they are in good academic standing and receive approval through the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. Students may also go on a job shadow outside of school hours. 

Students are encouraged to find their own placements. They should ask family members, friends, and other contacts. Students should also email or "cold call" local businesses. Students who are unable to find their own placement will be assisted by the internship coordinator.
