Students learn kitchen safety, sanitation, nutrition, and basic cooking skills. Students prepare foods such as eggs, soups, sandwiches, and pasta while developing knife skills, learning culinary terminology, and building foundational culinary skills.

Students will explore baking and pastry principles and measurement. Students will prepare quick breads, muffins, yeast doughs, bread and rolls, bagels, pate a choux, pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, and fruit desserts to be used in the Hive Café Bakery.Earn College Credit

Students develop advanced cooking, food preparation, and kitchen management skills. Students will assist in the kitchen operation of Hive Cafe. regional American cuisine, cooking techniques, food history, and professional kitchen operations will be explored.

Students Run the Hive Café while developing customer service, leadership, and hospitality skills. Students will learn about restaurant operations, menu design, cost control, and career opportunities in the food service industry.
