Introduction to Business is a broad-based introductory course designed to give the student exploratory experiences as they relate to the world of business. Students will explore all aspects of business through problem solving, role-playing, critical thinking, and the development of projects and activities. This course will provide students the opportunity to make intelligent career decisions. Students will learn strategies that will assist them as they develop into responsible citizens, wage-earners and consumers

This course is designed for all students who are interested in business. The course offers an introduction to the accounting cycle of a service company, emphasizing rudimentary accounting concepts. Computers and calculators are used to solve accounting problems. Each student will be asked to complete a business simulation for a business entity.

This course is a continuation of Introduction to Accounting. Hands-on experience is emphasized as students work on a variety of systems. The course emphasizes the analysis of business transactions and the study of the accounting cycle. Ethics issues are discussed throughout the course. Financial statement preparation is also addressed. Each student will be asked to complete a business simulation for a business entity.

Recommended for college-bound students who plan to further their education in the area of business administration and accounting fields, this course requires students to work at an advanced level in applying accounting principles, practices, and problem-solving techniques to a wide variety of situations. The Small Business Management course teaches the basics of planning and launching a business. Whether  interested in creating a money-making business or a nonprofit to help others, this course provides the core skills needed to succeed. Students learn about real-life teen entrepreneurs, characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, pros and cons of self-employment, and how to attract investors and manage expenses.
