3rd & 4th Grade Priority Skills
Conducting more independent research on a chosen topic
Developing search strategies for the library catalog and other databases
Searching for and locating library materials independently
Evaluating media sources for accuracy
Online safety / digital citizenship
Developing a basic understanding of copyright and plagiarism; creating citations that include title, author, and copyright date
Identifying aspects of a broad topic that would be important and interesting to pursue through inquiry
Using primary sources to gather information; comparing primary and secondary sources on the same topic
Media literacy
Students in 5th grade have a fixed schedule and met 3x per cycle (B,D,F).
Students in 6th, 7th, & 8th grade have a flexible schedule (A,C,E) for research/research skills.
