The BHA is a diverse group of caring community members that includes members from law enforcement, mental health providers, crisis response providers, non-profits, school leaders, businesses, public health/human services, and community members who collaborate to improve mental health in our area.
Vision Statement:
We envision thriving communities where every person has equitable access to behavioral health support, is free from stigma, and is empowered to live with connection and hope.
While we may feel mental health on an individual level, where we live, work, learn, play, and age significantly influence our mental health. This means that things based in the community, such as educational opportunities, jobs that pay livable wages, safe and pleasant neighborhoods, community spaces, healthcare access, affordability, experiences of discrimination, and social connectedness, can all shape our mental health. Our individual health and mental well-being are interconnected to the health and well-being of our families, friends, neighbors, workplaces, schools, and communities. Because of these interconnections and the influence of community factors on mental health, we can work collectively as a community for our community to improve the mental well-being of everyone living in Jackson and Cottonwood Counties.
