Our Walk-In Clinic is for those that need help with an urgent mental health need or require support between sessions with their outpatient mental health provider.
When you arrive, you will meet with our Intake Specialist to complete intake paperwork and determine level of care. You will then meet with our therapist for evaluation; initial appointments can take up to 1 hour. After your appointment, resources will be provided to further help.
If you are considering harm to others or yourself, please go to the Emergency Department right away for immediate and appropriate care.
Telehealth services are available for medication management.
Due to Medicare licensure requirements, Windom Area Health is unable to bill Medicare for services incurred in the Mental Health Walk-in Clinic for therapy services. Any Medicare patient who chooses to continue with clinic services will be self-pay.
This is a short-term issue, and will be resolved in the near future. Patients will receive a self-pay discount, and also a prompt pay discount if their bill is paid in full within the first billing cycle.
Windom Area Health provides financial assistance to patients based on their income, assets, and needs.

Inpatient care is medical care that happens in a hospital. We treat patients with severe symptoms that need to be monitored by health professionals.
Outpatient care is like a visit to your family doctor. Outpatient behavioral health care means patients come to a Sanford Health clinic to receive treatment and leave when the visit is complete.
Partial hospitalization programs are in between inpatient and outpatient care. You may participate in a PHP if you don’t need to be monitored 24/7 by health care professionals but need more comprehensive attention than outpatient care can provide. Patients receive treatment throughout the day and go home at night.
Virtual care offers convenient appointment options. Patients can connect with a specialist using their computer, tablet or smartphone Learn how to schedule an appointment or get care now.

I received my master's from Capella in 2020 in mental health counseling with an LPCC track. I have worked with Early childhood, teenagers, and adults. I don’t have a certain approach that I use / but I do love the serenity prayer and try to use that as much as I can in my professional and personal life.
I have provided individual, family, and group therapy. I believe that building rapport and collaborating with the client, is the key to self-sustaining change. I enjoy helping clients and families navigate through difficult situations and providing them with the empowerment they have within.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys in my free time. I enjoy golfing, being outdoors, exercising, cooking, and playing games with family and friends.

Insurance
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates for psychotherapy services.
I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Plus, UCare, and Minnesota Medicaid.
Payment
I accept cash, check and the following credit/debit cards as forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is much more than sitting and talking about whatever comes to mind during a session. CBT sessions are structured to ensure that the therapist and the person in treatment are focused on the different goals of each session, which in turn ensures that each and every session is productive.
Counseling for Anxiety
When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option. That’s because anxiety therapy – as opposed to anxiety medication – treats more than just symptoms to the problem.
Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.

Family Counseling
Family therapy is necessary to address family issues and heal a family’s wounds. Family therapy can be beneficial on many different levels.
Common reasons for seeking family therapy include:
Divorce
Parent-child conflict
Problems between siblings
Domestic violence
Unexpected or traumatic loss of a family member
Individual Therapy
If you’ve been feeling hopeless or lost lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life. Individual therapy helps you win against whatever you’re battling by putting a real expert in your corner by means of a professional therapist.
Group Therapy.
Group therapy helps you find a sense of community with others who are going through similar things as you while giving you access to valuable therapy that can truly help you feel better.
Group therapy’s effectiveness lies in its ability to help you find connections with other people and their experiences. These therapist-guided sessions will help you learn more about yourself and how to improve the way you feel while feeling support from others who understand your experience.
If you’re looking for help improving your everyday life – or for a more community-oriented therapy experience – you would be a great fit for our group therapy services. Please reach out to me today for an assessment for group therapy or to schedule your first appointment.

Individual Therapy:
We offer therapy to the individual with a plan you help create. We cater to your specific needs and help you create the life you want to live. We serve ages 5+ in individual therapy and use a variety of methods to do so.
Family Therapy
Family time can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be. We use our extensive knowledge on family systems to help you navigate conflict and better enable you to see the core issues and work through them in the family unit.
Play Therapy
We specialize in play therapy for ages 5+. We love to engage children where they’re at and how they understand things. Allowing a child to express themselves through play allows them to truly explore their own needs and feelings. Your child will enjoy coming to therapy because it’s fun!
EMDR
EMDR is most often used with trauma, but can also help you explore the origins of some of your deepest negative thoughts about yourself and where they started. EMDR uses eye movements to reprocess stored memories and helps restore them with a more positive perspective.
At Eunoia Family Resource Center we are committed to helping you maintain your wellness of mind through our variety of therapies, including individual, couples, family and group. Even if we are not the right place for you, we will help point you in the right direction.
We understand the difficulty in making appointments around your busy schedule. For your convenience, we offer day and evening appointments. You can also request an appointment online.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a joint process between a therapist and a person in therapy. Common goals of therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy attempts to improve romantic relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on solving problems that prevent a family from functioning in a healthy way.
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a method of meeting and responding to the mental health needs of children and is extensively acknowledged by experts as an effective and suitable intervention in dealing with children’s brain development. It is generally employed with children aged 3 through 11 and provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others.

We realize most medical expenses are unexpected, and we are committed to providing financial counseling to those who express concern in meeting payment expectations. It is important to let us know as soon as possible if you're having difficulty paying your bill. We help you determine if you qualify for programs, such as Medical Assistance, disability, Crime Victims’ Compensation, and other local grants or charities.
We can help you find alternative sources of funding for your medical care. We determine your need for charity care based on financial information and the medical services needed. The financial information includes your individual and family income, assets, employment status, family size and availability of alternative sources of payment.
If you're experiencing financial hardship, contact Patient Account Services at 1-844-217-9591.
We may ask you to complete a Financial Assistance Application, which will help us evaluate your eligibility for charity care. Note that until your application has been reviewed and approved by our financial counselors, you'll be financially responsible for your medical care. Completing an application may not absolve you of your full financial responsibility.
Patients determined to be eligible for financial assistance will not be charged more than amounts generally billed to those who have insurance coverage for emergency or other medically necessary care. Eligible patients with insurance coverage will not be personally responsible to pay more than amounts generally billed after all payments by the health insurer have been applied. Read more about the basis for calculating amounts charged.

Medication Therapy Management in St. James, Minnesota
Medication therapy management (MTM) provides education and consultations for the medications you're taking. The result is enhanced communication with your health care provider because you better understand your medications. This creates time for you to speak with your health care provider about other medical issues rather than focusing the conversation on medications and side effects.
During an MTM consultation, a pharmacist meets with you to discuss all of your medications including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and dietary and herbal supplements. The pharmacist then examines each medication individually to determine possible side effects, negative interactions and unnecessary dosages. If medication issues are detected, the pharmacist will work with your health care providers to make beneficial changes to your medication regimen.
You're welcome to have a caregiver or someone who helps you with your medications come with you to the consultation. Be sure to bring all of your prescription and over-the-counter medications and nutritional supplements with you.
During the consultation, you will:
Learn ways to make taking your medications simpler and easier.
Receive a private, customized medication care plan for all medications and supplements you take.
Understand the best time to take each medicine and if it should be taken with or without food.
Learn how to safely use medication devices, such as blood glucose meters or inhalers.
Understand how you may be able to reduce your medication costs by using medications appropriately, avoiding side effects and using less expensive medications.
Medication therapy management is a covered service under some government and private prescription plans. Please check with your prescription drug plan for coverage information. Your insurance is billed directly for the consultation.
If a medication therapy management visit seems right for you, talk to your care team about a referral.

PrairieCare’s trained Assessment & Intake Department–or AID Team for short– conducts no-cost mental health screenings over the phone to anyone seeking mental health services.
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for youth & adults
Our Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for youth and adults provide multi-specialty treatment through group, individual, and family therapy sessions. These intensive treatment options focus on thorough assessment and symptom stabilization while working on healthy living skills. Treatment is guided by a Board Certified Psychiatrist who meets with all patients individually.
For adults, PHP allows people to take control of their mental health symptoms that are interfering with their daily life tasks. Some of these tasks include work, caring for themselves, and caring for their families, as well as goals set by the individual. In addition, it can serve as an opportunity to jumpstart stalled therapeutic progress and assist through major life transitions.
PHP is a helpful level of care for students who are struggling with symptoms of mental illness that interfere with their ability to function in their daily tasks. Such as; going to school, progressing academically, making and keeping friends, and participating in family life.
Average length of stay is 3 to 5 weeks
