Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a powerful tool in which play is used as means of helping children express or communicate their feelings. We work in a therapeutic playroom with a variety of tools including puppets, art activities, sand, dolls and many other tools. Play Therapy is designed to allow children to communicate their inner most worlds, through their natural language, play.
Play therapy is an appropriate intervention to address a variety of cognitive, behavioral and emotional challenges. Play therapy can support children in processing their experiences and develop effective strategies to cope with their worlds.
Thrive
Thrive is a collaborative family and community based intensive therapy program of Journeys of Healing, LLC. Thrive is designed to help families avoid disruptions such as foster care placement, behavioral health placement, and declining family functioning. Trained therapists work with the child/children and guardians to help the family establish a stronger and healthier family system.
Thrive operates from a collaborative model, tapping into the many resources a family has (i.e. social workers, schools, law enforcement, medical providers, etc.) to help bring about stability and strength.
Trauma and Attachment
Sharon Bonnett, MSW, LICSW, RPT is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner. Sharon has trained on-site at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University under Dr. David Cross.
TBRI® is a family-based intervention that is designed for children who have experienced relationship-based traumas such as institutionalization, multiple foster placements, maltreatment, and/or neglect. Because of their histories, it is often difficult for these children to trust the loving adults in their lives, which often results in perplexing behaviors. TBRI® offers practical tools for parents, caregivers, teachers, or anyone who works with children, to see the “whole child” in their care and help that child reach his highest potential.
Because of their histories, children from hard places have changes in their bodies, brains, behaviors, and belief systems. While a variety of parenting strategies may be successful in typical circumstances, children from hard places need caregiving that meets their unique needs and addresses the whole child.

The primary funding mechanism for program services is Medical Assistance (MA) or one of the state prepaid MA plans (PMAPs, such as Primewest, Medica, and Blue Plus). Families eligible for MA are able to access these services for their child and family, and the services take place in their home, school, or community program. These therapeutic interventions are most effective when developed and implemented in the very setting where they are to be worked on.
For further information about funding services, contact your county social services agency or connect with MNsure for more information about health coverage in Minnesota.
We strongly believe that the home is the best place to resolve parent/child issues. By working with the family's strengths and being available when a family crisis arises - day or night - the in-home Counselors can support the family, and help identify options and resources to maintain the family circle. When children are placed out of the home, it is not because families are unwilling to change, but because community resources have not had the time or intensity of services to help the children have successful experiences in their homes and communities.
0 - 5 Diagnostic Assessments
Greater Minnesota Family Services collaborates with various community agencies to provide services for children birth to five. We believe strongly in the benefits of early intervention. We are able to meet a wide variety of needs such as help with discipline, aggressive behavior, sleep disturbances, social skills and we focus heavily on helping children and their caregivers build secure relationships. Services may be provided in children's homes, daycares, schools, or in the community.

I received my master's from Capella in 2020 in mental health counseling with an LPCC track. I have worked with Early childhood, teenagers, and adults. I don’t have a certain approach that I use / but I do love the serenity prayer and try to use that as much as I can in my professional and personal life.
I have provided individual, family, and group therapy. I believe that building rapport and collaborating with the client, is the key to self-sustaining change. I enjoy helping clients and families navigate through difficult situations and providing them with the empowerment they have within.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys in my free time. I enjoy golfing, being outdoors, exercising, cooking, and playing games with family and friends.

EMDR is most often used with trauma, but can also help you explore the origins of some of your deepest negative thoughts about yourself and where they started. EMDR uses eye movements to reprocess stored memories and helps restore them with a more positive perspective.
At Eunoia Family Resource Center we are committed to helping you maintain your wellness of mind through our variety of therapies, including individual, couples, family and group. Even if we are not the right place for you, we will help point you in the right direction.
We understand the difficulty in making appointments around your busy schedule. For your convenience, we offer day and evening appointments. You can also request an appointment online.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a joint process between a therapist and a person in therapy. Common goals of therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy attempts to improve romantic relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on solving problems that prevent a family from functioning in a healthy way.
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a method of meeting and responding to the mental health needs of children and is extensively acknowledged by experts as an effective and suitable intervention in dealing with children’s brain development. It is generally employed with children aged 3 through 11 and provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others.
