Welcome to our weekly bulletin,
As we approach February half term we have been very busy...
New technology is very important to us as it prepares students for life long learning in an ever advancing world.
The New Build Team met this week to discuss infrastructure to ensure we are future proof and fully functioning.
We hope that all of our students have an enjoyable week away from school and return fully recharged and ready to learn.
Please read this important letter from Mrs Ball.
Year 9 have been learning about French cuisine this week and sampled healthy and unhealthy options during their languages lessons.
Thank you to Mrs Turnbull for making this a memorable learning moment.
Our code cooperative students learned the history of AI and generated their own AI images.
Olivia created a 'can you guess the real image' and it really left thinking on which was the real image. Thank you to the Altitude Foundation for creating such engaging content.
Our last Scholastic Book Fair was a real success and so we have arranged another event.
Students will have access to the fair on 26th March and can pre-order books via the scholastic website.
Durham Youth Council’s annual Meet & Greet is booked for the 16th April 2025.
The youth councillors are excited to show you what they’ve been up to this last year, and what they’ve go planned for the next.
It’s an opportunity to network, find out what the youth council have been up to, share what you’ve been up to with them, and learn a little bit more about what we do.
If you’d like to come to this event, it’s free, and we’ll provide you with a yummy lunch!
Places are limited, so you need to reserve your place, using this form.

This year we’re having it at Stanley Education Centre, DH9 0HQ, where we are currently housed.
You’ll also get a chance to see our beautiful home room!
There’s ample parking on site.
We’d love to see you there.
There are less than two weeks to go for Durham County Council’s Big Spring Clean 2025! The campaign runs from 5th March to 5th May.
Over the course of our eight-week campaign we’ll be running a series of organised events including litter picks and education sessions as well as offering our year-round loan scheme as part of our volunteer litter picking programme and you’re invited to take part!
If you’d like to take part or are already planning a litter pick, please get in touch with the team by contacting litterfreedurham@durham.gov.uk. We will shortly be following up this email with some publicity materials for you to use.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for your continued efforts to keep County Durham clean and litter free and we hope that you continue to volunteer with us in the future.
We hope to see you all during the Big Spring Clean,
Thanks,
Civic Pride.
