Welcome to our weekly bulletin,
So much going on this week from hygiene to horse show jumping!
We have been very busy...
Yet another amazing transformation has occurred since our last bulletin. The ground is now cleared of all rubble and a new hardcore surface has been deposited. Lots of heavy machinery around the site but surprisingly very little noise.
Thank you for completing the parental voice form shared via the bulletin last week.
Assembly and The Big Question have focused on personal hygiene this week and students have discussed the health implications of staying clean.
We have also raised awareness of access to hygiene items as well as the increasing cost of things that really should be available to all.
In a bid to help out we have 50 bags of household cleaning products ready for collection by any one who feels they might benefit from them and as always, we all students have access to sanitary products, deodorant, toothpaste and shampoo if things are financially difficult at home.
If you would like a household cleaning pack please just call into reception.
Year 11 trial exams begin next week and following our update two weeks ago, your child has been given another copy of their timetable and exam arrangements.
Please ensure that your child has breakfast before school or arrives in time to get it here (free for all).
They also need a good night's sleep before each exam so a technology free bedroom before sleep is
The STEM Kart is taking shape and students have assembled the axle bearing and brake disk.
Our students have worked with passion to intricately assemble the brake discs (brake pad assembly picture below) and axle bearing, demonstrating a remarkable level of dedication and technical skill. Through hands-on learning, they've gained a deeper understanding of the complex relationships between components and developed problem-solving abilities. This project showcases their ability to work collaboratively, think critically and apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations.
Mia was at Birmingham NEC on Tuesday night for the British Show jumping National Awards evening as she won two awards on her pony Dylan.
A huge congratulations to Mia- we are all very proud of you.
The Northern School of Art is opening its doors to creative minded Year 10 and 11 students who are being an amazing opportunity to experience first hand, what it is like to work practical workshops using industry-standard kit, led by creative practitioners, plus insight into the creative industries.
If your child is interested please direct them to Mr Talbot.
Mr Heppell would like to thank all students and parents for their support with the Race for Kids.
We beat the £100 target and all students had a fab time participating.
