Welcome to our weekly bulletin,
Another week has flown by with a huge range of events and opportunities for students. We would like to thank all parents and carers who attended our progress and pathways evening on Thursday. It was fabulous to hear how pleased you are with the progress your children are making and how excited they are about their GCSE selections.
We have also been very busy...
Following the public consultation our builders are planning assemblies with students and opportunities for students to learn more about the construction industry.
We are looking forward to further updates soon.
A huge well done to our school council who have organised and run a number of events today and a massive thank you to all staff and students who have taken part or made a donation. It's not too late to add donations to our Comic Relief Just Giving Page so follow the QR if you are able to give something to help others. All donations are gratefully received.
16 marvellous students spent Thursday afternoon baking cakes in aid of comic relief. 50 cakes were made in total and expertly decorated. All cakes sold in under 15 minutes! Thank you to Mr McDonald and all the students who took part.
Staff also baked, bought and donated to a cake sale to raise money for comic relief.
Thank you to Mr Clarke for making sure everyone enjoyed breaktime today.
Following all the treats, we needed some exercise and so students took part in a staff v student penalty shoot out!
Thank you to Mr James, Mr Howe, Mr Hepple, Mr Chapman, Mr Escott and Mr Jackson who all faced our super strikers.
They may not have saved many goals but they certainly made the students cheer.
Three very brave and dedicated members of the school council spent Friday in silence. We were astounded at their determination and ability to communicate without speaking. Well done Joel, Ronnie and Ben. We are really proud of you and your sponsorship has helped people in need.
Freya must get a special school council mention as she made 50 Comic Relief badges and sold them for 50p each. Well done Freya!
Year 7 and 8 students learnt how Comic Relief helps young people who find themselves homeless and discussed what they feel are the most important forms of support.
They worked brilliantly as a team and shared thoughtful and mature ideas. Well done everyone.
25 students gave up their lunchtime to compete in a Comic Relief quiz.
Thank you to Mrs Hesslewood for organising this.
