Howdy, Tiger Families!
As we head into the week ahead, we’d like to remind families that there will be no school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While students are away from campus, this is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s message of kindness, service, and standing up for what is right. We look forward to welcoming our Tigers back on Tuesday as we continue a great week of learning together. Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
Spelling Bee Finals will be held AFTER SCHOOL on January 22nd.
Drop-off! We have had increasing tardiness in the mornings. Please help us out by having students ready to go to school early in the morning and ready to get out of the car at drop-off. We could also use some help at drop-off! If you have a few extra minutes, we'd love your help with opening car doors! Let us know!
Student attendance is CRITICAL for student success. Regular school attendance is essential, and absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student’s education. The student and parent should avoid unnecessary absences. Please do not send your student(s) to school sick. But please DO send your student(s) to school when they aren't sick. Use the school calendar as you plan your family's vacation time. Avoid pulling students out of school for vacation!
REMINDER THE LATE BELL IS NOW 7:40! Please try to have your students here before 7:40.
Please click HERE for more information on how to report an absence, the attendance office contact information, attendance times, and additional information.
Our critical funding time is 8:45am each day. That is the time of day that we take attendance for funding purposes. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD IN SCHOOL AT 8:45am EVERY DAY!! Avoid appointments at that time.
Term 1 attendance: 97%
Term 2 attendance: 95.76%

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message reminds us that everyone can make a difference. Take time as a family to talk about what kindness, fairness, and helping others look like at home, at school, and in your community. Read a book or watch a short video about Dr. King, then ask your child how they can show respect and care for others in small, everyday ways. These conversations help children build empathy and understand the importance of standing up for what is right.
Join DSISD for a free "7 Habits of Highly Effective Families" workshop designed to help you build stronger, deeper connections with your family. This workshop is hosted by our very own DSISD staff and family members. Discover how the same 7 Habits principles that our students learn in school can be applied at home to help your family thrive. This engaging, self-discovery workshop will provide you with new skills and fresh perspectives.
