I really like this piece. It is very fast and has a lot of scales. It also has a very victorian feel or like a film score. I think this piece sounds really good on harp, i feel as though it adds more emotion into the peice. I think it is very fast and Im a bit nervous to play at that tempo but it really is a beautiful piece.
Predictions: I've never heard this song before but I know that it is a christmas song so I think it will have a bit of a gospel vibe. I hope that it is a bit jazzy and fun to play.
First Listen: This song looks very difficult to play but sounds really fun. I like the continuous baseline that sounds a bit like ringing bells. I really like the sound of this song, I feel like it has a really good groove and even though it is a bit repetitive I feel like it'll be fun to play once we learn the repetitive sections.
Second Listen: After listening with the music Im honestly really excited to learn it. I like the way it looks and I think itll be really fun to play. I thought it might be repetitive to play but I think it won't be bad.
Pre Reflection: I really like this song, I think that it is super romantic. The movie 10 Things I Hate About You is an amazing movie and I think having this song in the movie is really dynamic and beautiful. I hope that the original song is as enjoyable and climactic as it is in the movie.
First Listen (Original) : I really love this song. It is so beautiful and has an awesome build of energy and I really hope we can do it justice on the harp because I worry it won't sound as good without things like horns, drums, and tambourine. I missed Heath Ledgers voice in the song.
Harp Arrangement: Off the bat my part looks very difficult but I'm excited. I really like this arrangement and how it builds with energy and chords as we go. I think it sounds good and I think as an ensemble we can work together to make this sound very dynamic and awesome even with only harp. I worry a bit about if we can get this up to tempo and play it with enough energy that it is really recognisable and well done.
