For my final in Geometry we were studying proofs. We made a draft of the stained glass by drawing the different shapes we were learning to write proofs about. The inspiration for the piece of stained glass was outer space and we made a sun, a moon and stars. To use the elements of art we used shape, color, and line. We used lots of different shape including parallelograms and triangles, we used colors and lines to bring the shape together and make it look like our draft on paper. To incorporate the principles of design we used balance, variety and emphasis. We used balance by having the shapes not all just in one spot, we used a verity of shapes to draw emphasis to the sun in our piece. All this connect back to us learning about proofs because we had to make sure the shapes were actually the shapes and so we had to know the rules of proofs. For example, when we were drawing a a parallelogram we had to make sure it followed the rules (opposite sides are parallel and congruent, opposite angles had to be congruent and the angles should be supplementary) so we could write a proof about it.
On January 9, we worked on a flipgrid explaining the constructions we drew.
On March 3 I completed an IXL about tangent lines and how find the length.
