I see abstraction as the idea of peeling back the layers of art and objects to show the base of the object. People started doing modernist art to create something that was different and depicted images and felling's and emotions. Compared to African abstraction art the art I have seen is a lot less colorful as African art which was vey colorful and had a lot of faces in it. I think that art can be related to science and math because different art materials and the way they interact with each other can be scientific and shapes all all math so they an be used to make accurate shapes. I tend to like art that is more expressive because I like art that appeals to the emotions and makes you feel the same thing that the artist was feeling while painting it.
Borax is a salt, a hydrated or anhydrous borate of sodium and is a colorless crystalline solid that dissolves in water to make a basic solution. Borax has boron with oxygen and soda. We used hot water to make this solution because we wanted to make the solution super saturated so it would hold more borax. When the water cool down the water cant hold the amount of borax anymore and so it gets rid of it and forms crystals.
My sculpture is 3d and dynamic because it was a heart that has 2 sides and will make a multisided heart.
Today in ELA we practiced doing our sentence structures and analyzed a chapter of how the Garcia girls lost their accents and put that in our worksheet. Then we read Chapter 2 of book 2 to understand the text.
I have been taught to see the elements of art and the principles of design in other classes too and this helps me see art in other places. I have made mandalas and those have patterns, color, lines, repetition and rhythm. When I make art I start by looking at the supplies and the things I needed to include in the piece, I usually don't plan but just try to go with what I'm feeling. I can show my process by documenting it with picture. This year we learned about Kehinde Wiley and he is most known for his paintings of Barack and Michele Obama.
Mandalas can be used to help focus attention and is also used by monks to represent their gods and help them meditate and be spiritual. They were made to serve as a representation of the universe and a guide to enlightenment. The mandalas have a lot of the principals of design like repetition, pattern, and balance. You could use a mandala to show an atom because it has a lot of repetition and so do atoms.
Today we started by working on our Membean and IXL. Then we finalized the script and made sure all of the necessary elements were there. Then we read through the script and worked to make sure that it sounded good.
Today in ELA we learned baout Hamirabis code and decided weather or not it was fair and took some of his laws adn said what we would have done. Then we got in our groups and read our script to the class to get feedback.
The Nutcracker is a very popular ballet that is really beautiful. I have seen the ballet and I really like ballet and the music in it. It is about a girl named Clara who gets gifted a nutcracker and goes into the world of the nutcracer. This is actually not what happens after Clara breaks the curse he takes her to his throne and they do a bunch of dances based on the sweets around the world.
During class today we learned about the different parts of writing a screen play and worked on the screen play for our show. We did the first 3 scenes.
Today we worked on making a group contract and norms for our group.
I thought auto draw was so cool and I really liked how it was able to guess what I was doing. I think that Ai can be really good for art for a lot of reasons like being open to see new types of art. That being said Ai can be bad because people might lose respect for artist and how hard it is to create art in the world. I really like both types of art but I think that we need to make sure we respect and pay artist what the deserve and give them recognization.
Today we learned about characters and plot diagrams. We put the plot that we made last week and then put it on the diagram. This was fun because we got to work on the plot for our play.
The neolithic revolution lead to the injustices within religions, social classes, and between genders because when the people settled down and were less focused on the nomadic lifestyle they started to have a patriarchy a social hierarchy. They social hierarchy was mainly formed. Before the neolithic revolution people traveled in groups called crans and in this group all the people had about the same amount of power and responsibilities. For example the woman were hunter and gathers along with the men and childrearing was their only responsibility. When the groups started to become farmers they had a surplus of food whichment they could focus on other things and distribute other jobs to people. This caused some people to feel better about themselves because they viewed their job as more important than others and women were moved to the background and looked down on. For example a person who is working in town and owns their own shop might feel like their better than a farmer adn this could cause discrimination.
Some of the biggest invitations of early neolithic technology is the process of knapping, projectile points, and ofcourse farming. The discovery that when you strike 2 rocks together you can make fire was a revolutionary discovery that led early people cook their food, which aided in brain development, stay warm under cold conditions, and be able to have light after dark. They also showed the use of projectile point which were sharpened rocks that were used for protection and to help hunt. They used rocks to chip the other rocs into points sharp enough to kill which was time consuming but necessary to help people good food. One of the most important developments that lead civilization to be where it is today was the onset of farming and the discover of a sedentary lifestyle. This discovery helped the people be able to focus on developing intellectual pursuits more than just focusing on surviving. All of these discoveries laid the foundation for the society we live in today.
The rise of interregional trade rites helped the spread of religion because people who never would have crossed path were forming trade bonds which could lead to religious teachings. The groups would trade with each other so they would have access to resources they normally wouldn't have access to which lead to the discovery of other types of life and how other groups examined their religion. Another bis reason religion spread was because of the prosecution of different parties and their dislocation to different areas. For example the religious persecution of jewish people and their forced relocation.
Centralized government is a form of organization where only one unit is authorized to make autonomous decisions, set goals, and objectives. This can be seen in the Qin Dynasty in china. Decentralization is when you transfer the power from a high level of government to a lower one. This makes it so that more than one person is authorized to make autonomous decisions so the decisions are made father and by more qualified people. This can be seen in in ancient rome.
6 important terms that I think are important to remember are Paleolithic which was the time when people were nomadic. My next word would be the Neolithic Revolution which was the era when people became sedentary and this was the start of the evolution of people and the development of a hierarchy and inequality. The words Indus River Civilizations would be important to remember because they are the original civilizations and were the foundation for a lot of culture and lead to many important things in current cultures. Codification is an important word to remember, it is when things were written down and is important in situations like the codification of religious texts. Abrahamic religions are also important things to remember because they are the basis of christianity, judaism, and hindu. My last word would be democracy because it was an important development that lead to the current religious structure of today.
Test: Ask a partner which of your three compositions is the most successful in creating movement that carries the viewer’s eye around the slide. Why?
Answer: My partner said the first one was the most successful because of the way the lighting shape landed between the lines and following all three lines can lead you to the blue moon. It is like a pathway that your eyes can follow to see different things.
Evaluate: Think about how you set up a science experiment and gather data. In what ways was this activity similar to or different from a science experiment?
Answer: I think that this activity was very similar to a science experiment because we collected the data and then tested whether or not we could recreate the results. It was also very similar because we looked at how other artists made movement and then we tried to recreate the movement. Then we wrote a reflection about it. It's different because we didn't hypothesis which is really important in science to show your experiments and your thoughts. I thought this was a really fun activity / experiment and helped me understand a lot about art.
Art is anything original and creative and is usually made by a person. I think art Art is also anything that can be enjoyed because art is mad to be enjoyed. Art can be created to lots of classes like literature and music because books and music are also art. Another way art can be in other classes that aren't art is things like doodles and essays.
