I really like the speed of the piece and the dynamics. It seems like each part(instrument) is kind of chasing each other, similar to a race. The harp and stringed instruments really complement each other. I enjoyed the key changes; they kind of felt like mood changes.
I really enjoyed the speed of the piece. I enjoyed the very fast bowed string parts where all the different sections complimented each other. I also liked how well the harp was heard throughout the whole performance. Loved the dynamics towards the end of the first movement. I also really liked the harp solo/duet part of the second movement(?).

Title of Video: Brandee Younger-Tiny Desk Concert
I very much enjoyed the Brandee Younger tiny desk concert. She did a lot of rolled chords and lots of scales. She also used glissandos and harmonics in Unrest. I love the rolled chords she added to the end of Lift Every Voice and Sing, it made the piece sound stronger. I also really liked the colors she was wearing and how her nails matched! I think placing her harp towards the front of the concert helped make it the focus of the performance. The singing and all the instruments coexisted very, very well together! I love how Brand New Life just makes you kind of relax and flow. Unrest shows that she can change her playing and style and it added variety to the performance. I loved the transition between the pieces, they were very smooth and made the performance seem more professional. I enjoyed the dynamics as the pieces came to an end and started. The flow of the concert was very good. Something I would’ve done differently is having a very quiet guitar/drum duet while I'm talking just to kind of continue the mood between Brand New Life and Moving target. Brand New Life made me think of a very relaxing cafe with people casually roller skating to the music around! The piece, Moving Target, sounds like it’s building up to something big, as the drums and guitar join in. I really loved the harmonizing from the singer because it added a sort of unique/space sound to the piece. The higher the singer goes the more unique the piece sounds. I think the majority of her pieces are jazz/jazz funk (Brand New Life, Moving target). The pieces are very satisfying and rewarding to the ear. There might have been some classical in Unrest. The pieces I remember are Lift Every Voice And Sing(Black National Anthem), Brand New Life, Moving Target, and Unrest.

In Unit 1, I learned a lot about polynomials and their properties. Polynomials are expressions using operations to combine them. They consist of exponents, variables, coefficients, and constants. You classify polynomials depending on the number of terms in the polynomial. The degree is the highest exponent in the expression. You add and subtract polynomials by only adding and subtracting the like terms. Also, when you "multiply" exponents you add them and when you "divide" exponents you subtract them. An example of using polynomials in real life is if you are an engineer.

Geometry plays a very big role in architecture. The role is plays is that lots of different temples and buildings are built based off of simple shapes. These shapes are organized in a way for structural support and to enhance the buildings look. Geometry helps architects figure out the space they are working with and measurements will make the most sense in a specific situation. Geometry plays an overwhelmingly important role in the influence/impact on architecture.

A mathematical proof is a series of statements and that are used to support a final true statement. It's an argument that convinces other people something is true. We prove to show facts and backup reasons to support an argument. The skills you're developing when practicing proof is being able to back your opinions/arguments which are important in everyday life or some jobs like lawyers, etc.

A translation is a when a shape is move up, down, right, or left across the y or x axis. We've learned that translations can be reflexed across an axis and usually they are flipped opposite directions when they are reflexed. Translations can be used in real life if you are an engieneer or video gamer and have certain codes that might "mirro" affect a specific object.
Weddings-
-When two people get married
-Usually people invite family and friends to enjoy their marriage
-Normally love songs are played during the ceremony or traditional wedding songs
-Everyone's wedding is different depending on their wants/religion/financial
Structure of a wedding-
-Prelude (people come in a sit down)
-Processional (1.groom/groomsmen*/officiant, 2 entrance grandmothers/mothers, 3 flower girl/ring bearer, 4 bridesmaids--> maid of honor, 5 the bride-stand up)
-Ceremony (welcome/message/reading 1&2/song*/vows/unification/ring exchange)
-Pronouncement
Recessional (exit, up tempo) (couple/bridesmaids/groomsmen/family/audience)

This picture shows what happens when you cut your materials too fast. The band saw belt will fall off and you could get hurt!
Do
Wear Safety Glasses
Go very slowly when cutting material.
Lower/raise the blade guard to the needed height.
Don't
Not ask a teacher before use.
Pull out fast when cutting backwards.
Put your hand near blade.
Do
Know where the nail is going to come out.
Use the correct gauge and nail length.
Wear safety glasses.
Don't
Point the gun towards anyone.
Use the gun with any exposed body parts near it.
Put nails into the tables.
This picture shows what happens when you have a body part exposed in the area in which you are pointing the nail gun. Looks like it hurts!
This is an example of putting your fingers near the table saw. If you do not have a saw stop, this blade could easily slice off your fingers.
Do
Wear eye protection
Use push stick when needed
Keep your fingers 6" away from the blade
Don't
Cut materials with screws or nails in them
Cut wet materials
Do crosscuts with rip fence
Do
Wear safety glasses/ear protection
Adjust the cutting thickness prior to cutting
Attach the vacuum before use
Don't
Put fingers near the opening
Pass any materials that aren't wood or has nails in it
Forget to unplug when finished
This is how to correctly use a planner. Your fingers aren't near the opening and you have it set to the correct thickness.
