Marielle O'Neill is a rising 11th-grade student at Drew Charter School and a dedicated harpist with four years of experience. She is a member of the Urban Youth Harp Ensemble, where she is currently in her fourth year. She was honored with the Outstanding JA Student Award in 8th grade. Marielle has had the privilege of performing at the SM-LAC Debutante Program Cotillion and Ball, the SLAM Atlanta Art Show, the 2024 Atlanta Harp Festival, and the 2025 GMEA Conference. She successfully auditioned and was selected for the 2025 GMEA All-State Orchestra and Bands and performed with the 11-12 Symphonic Band and the 11-12 Full Orchestra. Marielle has also participated in Solo & Ensemble competitions since 7th grade, consistently earning straight 1's throughout her high school career.
She has studied under esteemed harpists Angelica Hairston, Jennifer Betzer, and Molly O'Roark. Passionate about musical creativity, Marielle enjoys arranging music for the harp and exploring R&B repertoire.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Marielle is an athlete on the Drew Charter Girls Varsity Soccer team. She placed second in a short film competition, Ubuntu which earned her a $5,000 prize, she considers this as one of her proudest achievements. Her creative interests extend to crafting origami flowers and listening to music in her free time.
