Mid - Year Report
My Mid-Year Report was written for my exchange organization, documenting my year up to that point. I discussed my specific experience with my program, as well as my experience as an exchange student. I included information about language camp, and my small town. My life up until that point had felt stagnant, but being able to lay it all out made me understand how much I had accomplished.
End - Year Report
My End - Year Report was six pages documenting what my year had been. It was completely in German and holds the main documentation about how much my exchange year meant to me. While it was feedback for my exchange program, it felt like more than that. We all submitted these reports to the German Bundestag, their parliament, for them to choose a few to be presented. These are formally a way to give a reason to Germany and America to continue the program. They are supposed to document how important this program is, and the difference it makes. But informally, it documents the heart my exchange year gave me. Going back and reading this report while adding it to my portfolio brought tears to my eyes. It is hard to comprehend that my year is already over, and reading about it just sent me right back to my small town and big family. I miss my year more than anything; this report explains why.
