10th Grade
From my understanding, people started using abstraction as a way to further represent the artist's soul, and emotions in their rawest forms. As well as a way to go against more traditional art styles. When we look at other cultures uses of art it seems a lot of the time it is used to tell a story, like how art in our culture has been used to convey the music. I think abstract art could be related to science or math because while it may look random or without purpose there is one. In a math equation sometimes you look at it and it's like what the heck is this, it's just random letters, but in the end, it can be solved. Abstract art can look like nothing, but if you really focus you can see the emotions and meaning in the piece. Data can be used to create abstract art because of what that data means, how it can be painted, or even the outcome in comparison to the input, and like where you paint on the canvas. I prefer to work in a more personally expressive way, I like being able to show emotions and how things feel rather than using data.
Borax is a salt of boric acid. It's a colorless crystalline solid. With the chemical formula Na2H20B4O17. You use hot water because it increases how much borax can dissolve in the water so that it becomes supersaturated, as it cools crystals are formed. I think that my sculpture is dynamic because its wings stick out opposite from each set and there are little excess bits of pipe cleaner that stick out the sides.
Last semester I would say my grades ended up well, but I did not keep up with my assignments well at all. I best learned by first being explained the information, then practicing it on my own or in small groups with the ability to ask the teacher for help. my SMART goal for this semester is to keep up with my assignments. An activity or project idea I would like to see is really just anything that allows me to try and apply what math we are learning.
This year we have been taught about mandalas, which relates to our history class as it deals with past and current religions, and since we made electron mandalas it relates to science. This year we did the Its Elementary project, which had us showcase different elements of art and principles of design, mine for example included emphasis, propoirtion, and shape. As well as us researching a specific artwork and talking about how it relates to the elements of art and principles of design. I can experiment with different possibilities in my planning and process by comeing up with multiple sketches, and different idea straying from a similar topic. You can show your progress with pictures of the dfferent steps. A historic art we have leanred about is the mandala. Mandalas have been around nearly as long a buddhism and is a vey long, but rewarding process.
This Mandal integrated steam by combining physical art, with elements, as well as adding realigious and historical elements in order to compine multiple classes. From my visual art class, I primarily used the elments of art and principles of design. From my chemistry class, I primarily used my knowledge on elements and electron configuration, and from my world history class I used my knowledge and backround on mandalas and how they are made. The mandala helps me understand th process and care it takes for the people in these realigion to do these forms of worship. I think our was succesful as the design spreads throughout the rings, and we all were able to collaberate and make pieces of it represent us. On the contrary it was rather messy and we probably could have had a more cohesive design. If I were the teacher, for next year I would probably have chosen smaller groups, so that the workload is more evenly distrabuted and everyone has a chance o do something they want to.
The mandala is used as a sacred for of worship. It signifies the transition of a universe of suffering to one of joy, it is done while meditating, which can make it and aid to it, also used in sacred rites. In a mandala I see pattern, balence, unity and rythem. To show an atom, the center circle could be the nucleus, while the areas surrounding it could be the electrons. Mandalas were created and are used in Buddhist culture, wherever there are buddhist tpically there have been mandalas, so this part of culture spread thoughout world civilizations.
Today we completed storyboards for our script, and highlighted the compound and complex sentences, and characterization in our script. As well as doing our costumes for our characters.
Today we did an assignment on Hamurabis code. And we did a table read of out scripts with another group and gave each other feedback.
Today we finished the scripts for our play. We then read through it to make sure it is 5 minuetes.
Today we started writing our scenes for our plays/movies. My group got through the first one and about half of the second one. Initiating the idea of a bvote, then leading into the convinces of concil members in certain ideas.
I think that AI hurts art mroe than it helps it. AI can boost references and idea development, but the process of AI steals artists ideas. The basis of creativity made by artists is stolen by AI. We use these things as representation for other subjects. It can be used to represent element superbheroes in science, or show what archetecture could look like for engineering or math.
Today we took notes on plot diagrams, and then we created our storyline and plot diagrams for our short film.
Today we reaserched parts of Ancient Roman history and started planign our play.
Today we completed our group agreement and norms, and signed them.
Pre neolithic revolution was a rather equitable society with both men and woman playing and equal part in the continuing survival of our species. As the neolithic revolution occurred however, it brought on and idea that men were stronger, smarter, and better suited for jobs of hierarchy and farming. It was traditional that a man would work the day and a woman would stay home, take care of children, cook, and whatever other household chores needed doing. With the ideas of hierarchy came the leaders, and brave ones. Putting the idea that people who did manual labor were less deserving than people who had jobs higher on the hierarchy. Regions were created with the neolithic revolution, as writing was. But with these religions also came people who disagreed with them, which could lead to hate. For example antisemitism and the hatred of Jews.
Early neolithic inventions were things that we could find simple now, like writing, found on stone tablets with things like hieroglyphics. Farming, which allowed a more prosperous society and larger populations. Technologies like hierarchy, leaders, law enforcement, jobs. Not roles but specific specialities people had that made them more useful in their community.
Interregional trade routes with specializations of societies. As people communicated it brought on ideas of god/gods all around the world. Evidence now reveals that strong cross country connections through trade routes aligns with a Muslim representation in certain parts of the world. Showing and proving that even before our modern technologies, trade spread the most important knowledge.
Centralized government offers a stronger political strength through executive and legislative power rather than spreading it evenly throughout lower levels of government. Decentralized government however has no concentrated amount of power in one place that makes decisions for the whole party. Instead each party make local autonomous decisions towards its goals. In finland the centre party directly supports decentralization, while in france and great britain the federal government holds all the power.
Neolithic times was the rise of society and farming, the neolithic revolution also known as the agricultural revolution. Paleolithic times were pre agricultural revolutions, with small packs of humans and hunter gatherers. Codification means to inscribe a centralized text, codifying religions is the most common use for it, a codified text would be a the bible or torah. River valley civilizations were known primarily as Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, and China. Empires, the rise and falls of them. The roman empire, the greek, persian empires. Persecution, the killing of people because they aren't what you consider right, or pure, hierarchy as a pyramid people use to make themselves better.
Art is something that is for a reason, it triggers emotions and makes you think. Art help us understand human feelings, likes, dislikes, what intrigues you. All things that we use and are helpful in other subjects. Through art we can connect more with other subjects, art that relates to it can help us understand it more, like cubism in geometry. Or maybe go off topic, understanding graphs by showing art about it, finding art about a historical movement, even pictures in books helps people visualize and understand what is happening.
