Unearthing Farms was an internship opportunity I recevied through Drew. It was an 8 week long internship at a farm and famers market in Atlanta. We learned about different agricultural techniques, native and invasive species, how to care for different farm animals, and also how to sell different agricultural products. Many of the foods I grew were cucumbers, tomatoes, scallions, dill, parsley, cabbage, mustard greens, turnip greens, and herbs! Below you can see the progress we made throughout the weeks while growing our fruits and vegetables and the friends I made along the way as well. My other co-workers and I go visit the farm every other week even though we are no longer employed there any more. It truly left an impact on us and each other. We also help new interns find there way around the farm and help them plant more things.
After finishing this 8 week long internship, I was invited back to become a farming assistant to help out the farm and interns who came after my program. Sometimes, I also go back just to volunteer and help out in any way I can!
