For my painting, I chose to do a painting about my grandmother. My grandmother passed unfortunately in March of 2024. This painting is dedicated to her as her favorite color was blue. During the Guernica Project, I discovered that gradients was something I could possibly do. Gradients and painting came together to be included and also would be given to my father as a father's day gift in remembrance of her.
Today in class, we attempted to make solar balloons. Solar balloons float with heated air inside the balloon and has a lower density than the air around it. This assignment also relates to the gas law: Charles' Law. As temperature increases, volume and pressure increases.
You'll be using 1 and or 2 point perspective in a drawing from observation.
The drawing should use the whole paper, and while not everything has to be totally accurate, I should see that you understand how to use a vanishing point, perspective lines, and objects diminshing in size with distance, that you have used your time to refine and edit your work.
The Electron Mandala project incorporates steam with Science, Art, Technology, and Math. Science because we were assigned an element and had to incorporate the element in the mandala, Art because we had to draw and color in the mandala as well as the designs, Technology because the research that was used to make an accurate mandala, and Math in order to make each circle equivalent. From science class, we learned about electrons and electron configurations used to identify elements and orbitals they have. In history, we learned about the different religions and how they come into play with the making of the mandala. In art, we learned about different principles of design like patterns etc. The mandala helped me consider new perspectives and what its like to make different versions of a mandala. Our work was pretty successful because different people in our group had different roles and did them diligently. If I was the teacher, I would have allowed students to pick an element and give them smaller elements so that all the rings can fit.
