In this assignment, we had to create a poster which demonstrated the steps to the American Revolution. Starting from the French and Indian War (1754-1763) all the way to the Declaration of Independence (1776). This collage for Women's Rights is composed of historic and modern images representing key moments and figures in the women's rights movement. It includes early activists like Ida B. Wells and Elizabeth Cady Stanton who helped lead campaigns and protests. The more modern activists like Malala Yousafzai are currently advocating for reproductive rights, and protesting for equal pay, access to healthcare, and gender equality. The split of color between older photos and new photos helps represent continuity and change from the Women's Rights movement then and now. This visual narrative pays respect to the enduring efforts of women who have fought and continue to fight for equity and representation in all aspects of society.
For this assignment, we had to create a one pager, summarizing and giving important information to the unit we needed help understanding the most. This involved breaking it down into the 7 most important sectors we need to know. This included things like the U.S within the world, Migration and Settlement Patterns, and even National Identity. I chose Period 6 which is during the era of Reconstruction which is after the Civil War (1861-1865). This ended up being very helpful as majority of the writing prompts were about this time period and context of the time period.
