For my final in Geometry, we had to paint a piece of stain glass. The requirements were to have a parallelogram, a square, a rhombus, a rectangle, an additional shape, and 2 congruent triangles. The inspiration for our design was a sunset. The 3 elements of art incorperated were shape, line, and color. The 3 principles of design used were repition, emphasis, and rythm. During Geometry class, we learned about the characteristics of a parallelograms in order to prove that they are parallelograms. For example, we had to make sure our opposite sides are congruent or equal to each other and our corresponding angles were supplememntary.
For this project, we had to create an animation on google slides of a story. The story I chose was Beauty and the Beast. In order for us to do this we had to understand the standard of transformations which are: translations, rotations, reflections, and dialations. Translations move a shape up, down, left, or right. Reflections flip a shape the opposite side across and axis or point. Rotations rotate a shape to where it can be fliped from quadrant to quadrant. Dialations are the only transformation that do not leave a shape congruent.
We designed a water bottle and had to convert different units as a class and use at least 2 geometric shapes to create a water bottle.
