Technology a Boon, but can not replace Human Touch!
The vast advances made by science in various fields continue to affect our lives, some for the better and some even for the worse. We have come to associate progress with scientific advancement, and in many ways it is correct. Yet the human face, the value of direct interpersonal relations can never be undermined.
The worldwide pandemic has increased interaction on various electronic platforms so alarmingly that most people believe that this is the way forward and that the pandemic has come as a reminder that we need not meet to achieve our aims. However, nothing could be farther from the truth. Today we are faced with severe issues related to internet users who are deprived of face-to-face communication with fellow beings and are facing serious isolation related trauma. Many adults have been unable to come to grips with the work-from-home philosophy tying them down to their desks at home. Likewise many students are finding the online learning a drab and even a huge cause of mental stress. The mind and the body crave for the proximity of other fellow students. The children today are keen to play and run about with other friends, even though presently the serious risks of the same can not be ruled out. However, in interest of the mental well being of all students, it may be best to permit them to mingle, with reasonable precautions as advised by the government, once the pandemic shows signs of receding and the official directives are issued by the government administration to resume physical school activities on campus. This may be permitted as a gradual process, under strict observation and control, and we would definitely like to ensure the mental and physical well-being of all our students and teaching/ non-teaching staff at the school as well. Whereas we are only a medium who can arrange the activities, precautions would need to be followed by all concerned and we would ensure strict control, monitoring and discipline to ensure that laid down norms of safe conduct are not violated at all. It would be in the best physical and mental interest of all students to then participate in actual school as and when it starts under government directions. It would give them an avenue to redirect their energies afresh towards academics with renewed vigour which has fallen lately due to continuous online learning activities, with little physical interaction. Our students are going through a rough period and would indeed find life much easier and happier once school restarts, although with some restrictions on safe interaction. The mere presence of their friends, teachers and the ambience of the school premises would surely help to release a number of negativities that may have crept into their delicate minds.
It is with utmost sincerity that we would like to exhort all parents htta once school is reopened under government directives, they must encourage their wards to attend regular activities at school, as per laid down norms. On our part, we would always endeavour to provide the safest environment for the students and school staff. We look forward to the reopening of the school once the situation improves and assure parents of our best efforts to ensure a safe environment for the students .
