Byrdseed.com

This website infuses best practices for gifted instruction with a twist of humor and deep thinking. Ian Byrd's offers a myriad of ideas to transform our thinking about what it means to be gifted. His blog is thought-provoking and fun at the same time. He offers math projects, work play activities and ideas to jump-start creative thinking activities. If teachers need ideas for working with gifted students, they can subscribe to his TV channel. The TV channel is actually a series of lessons ranging from art to writing. A teacher could easily project on of these for a class. Some materials are offered free of charge while others come with a subscription fee.

I chose this site as I am fascinated by thinkers who are changing the mainstream perception about giftedness through a sleek visual format. He uses this medium to attract 21st-century thinkers and other people who wish to improve the lives of the gifted. I think we can use his work as an example to make our less compelling student-facing materials more dynamic.
