Prerequisite
HSC English Extension 1 and HSC Advanced English must be taken if HSC English Extension 2 is to be studied. Students wishing to undertake this course must apply with a written response eg short story, play, suite of poems to highlight their writing ability before being accepted into this course.
Course Description
In the HSC English Extension Course 2, students develop a sustained composition (Major Work) and document their reflection on this process. Students must be independent and self-directed learners. There is no exam in the HSC for this course and the final work is submitted to NESA at the end of August.
For whom is this subject intended
This course is intended for students who have achieved A or B level results in Preliminary Advanced English and Preliminary Extension 1.
Main Topics Covered
The course requires students to complete a Major Work and reflect on and document the process in a Journal.
Particular Course Requirements
The HSC English Extension Course 2 requires completion of a Major Work proposal, a statement of reflection and the Major Work for submission.
