APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The Career development course, developed and held in collaboration with the Career Service, aims at providing the students that are about to graduate with a number of skills that are indispensable to enter the professional world. The course will cover general topics, such as work types and contracts, elements of business economics, intellectual property and relat-ed rights, as well as more specific themes connected with different topics, such as the study of the most important players in the industry and of the dynamics that rule the access to certain professional markets. The goal is to make students aware of the possibilities as well as of the rights and duties connected with the professional activity in their industry.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Explain what kind of businesses are part of the Italian and international scenario
Talk about the various work agreements and contracts in Italy
Identify the most suitable way to enter the professional world, according to individual ambitions
Apply consistent fees for the most common professional services/products on the reference market
Account for all the items that make up a gross income, and approximately estimate net revenues
Apply the right norms for the safeguarding of the author’s rights and use of copyrighted material
Select tenders, start-up accelerators, funding or other tools that can facilitate the access to the professional market, consistently with the individual needs
Businesses: types and running
Work: types, contracts, professions
Accounting: tax authorities, welfare, taxes and revenues
Standards and procedures of the professional activity within the industry
Analysis of market and reference industry
Strategies to enter the professional world
Start-ups, tenders, incubators and financing
This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Final project (access plan to the professional market) and oral exam
