APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The project lab introduces students to character animation, through the understanding of the bacis techniques of character animation, inverse kinematic, and motion capture, focusing on the fundamentals of character animation and its practical application.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Identify the main techniques and applications of character animation
Perform critical analysis of existing projects
Animate and post-produce according to a project brief
The general introduction is focused on character animation fundamentals
Individual practical exercises, aiming to learn IK and character animation skills
Introduction to processes related to animation
This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Completion of a project
Oral exam
