Our announcement videos were shared in ParentSquare weekly to teachers, families, and students. Parents responded favorably to our videos as seen in the post below.
All families were encouraged and incentivized to visit the VILS lab and participate in tech stations. The tech coach and 2 student tech team members facilitated activities using sphero robots, 3D printing pens, and Google Earth VR. Students also received special HCLS coins we 3D printed.

Our Student Tech Team facilitated VR experiences for families in the VILS Lab during Open House.
The student tech team collaboratively planned and facilitated a spirit week for Digital Citizenship Week this year. In order to inform families, they recorded videos to introduce the theme and some related tips. These videos along with families activities and resources were shared through ParentSquare to families, teachers, and middle school students.
The district hosted an internet safety and online bullying workshop for parents. This information was shared through ParentSquare and flyers were share in 3 languages. The session was responsive to our families by providing childcare and translation by headphones. Parents could also join virtually or watch the recording when it is convenient for them.
