Guiding questions:
What are the needs of your community and how are you meeting them?
How are families empowered to support their children at home?
Families are engaged and empowered through Parent Square and Power School. Dr. Bronhard encourages families to download the app through Parent Square messages and direct conversations for better connections. We've had a family tech support table at Open House and Conferences to help parents get connected. Guardians have direct communication with teachers and the school by messaging in the app.
Families are empowered to support their children with free to them tutoring services through Paper at home. Printed resources were given at school events and digital resources our on the HLCS and FRPS websites. Students participated in a Paper Rally to learn about the platform from Paper directly.
How did you support technology literacy in your community?
We are surveying families on their preferences for digital citizenship parent workshops.
What are your plans for family engagement at your school? How have/will these activities enhance and support technology integration with your families?

Self Reflection on the Element: (Choose one: Emerging, Aligning, or Optimizing)
Strengths: How did your campus exemplify illustrating this element?
Next Steps: What could you have done differently to better align with this element?
We are optimizing in the element of family engagement as we have evidence for each of the criteria. We provide multiple opportunities for families to stay informed through Parent Square, Power School, weekly phone calls, emails, and flyers. We promote equity by translating newsletters into home languages. Families can engage in 2 way communication through Parent Square in their home language. We provide support and resources in person during family events.
Our strength is being accessible during our events such as Parent Teacher conferences. The tech coach is available to support with any tech issues and signing up for our platforms as well as provide resources. Our student tech team gets involved as well by facilitating VR experiences by families that they helped curate the scenes.
We could improve by hosting specific parent workshops. We attempted to do this this year, however, it was canceled due to lack of interest. We will problem solve and strive to host workshops next year.
