Ongoing professional development supports effective teacher use of technology through the use of instructional technology coaches, teams of teacher leaders, or other systems of support.
All guiding questions are aligned to the element criteria located in the Portfolio Guide.

TIM-O Data
I have found the Teacher Technology Surveys to not be as helpful as our own school surveys and data. As all of our VILS teachers are asked to take the survey, our Unified Arts and Phys Ed teachers can skew the data as they only teach their classes 1-2 times a week.
This year, teachers met with the VILS coach weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly 1:1 based on their preference. It was not embedded in our schedule.
We have identified the 5 model classrooms of our TLC members. We have other teachers who are also strong in tech who may feel comfortable opening up their classroom for a colleague to see a specific strategy that is a strength.
While I have emailed all and discussed the option with some teachers specifically about observing a demo class, no one has taken advantage of that. The survey data shows that there is confusion among staff.
I surveyed my colleagues about offering PD before school. With 6 yes and 6 maybe responses I moved forward based off of what teachers stated what they wanted to focus on. Each session was only attended by 1 teacher each time.
After reflection, I thought that maybe on demand tutorials might be a better option for our busy teachers. 100% (out of 15 teachers who responded) stated that they would access such resources. Creating an on demand library based off of teacher need through either teacher request, TIM-O data, or in alignment with the school's vision/PLP plan will be a priority for me next year.
We have had 52 TIM-Os this year between 19 teachers.
Guiding questions:
What does your TIM data show?
We continue to need to improve our technology integration in the Goal-Directed and Collaborative characteristics. Technology integration is becoming more seamless and being used as a tool. This is leading to higher level in the TIM particularly in authentic, constructive, and active learning.
How has TIM data reimagined the support for teachers at your campus?
This data helps me know what to focus on when I meet with teachers and create Potty PD posters.
How could TIM-O observations and feedback be better?
Not sure. I read them and usually try to apply any suggestions in my groups.
Honestly its very helpful
More frequent and more suggestions
I think its great!
For the most part they're fine. Perhaps if the feedback was mostly based on what should be changed, offer to have that feedback be in person or a meeting after the teacher has had time to read the feedback.
I like the current process. I can not think of any suggestions at this time.
As a developing teacher I appreciate the written feedback in the documents. Personally, ir is always helpful to revert back to a document/email.
I like the email so I can refer back to it! I'm happy to just ask for a follow-up if I need it.
I like the current system. Becky is super responsive when I send follow up questions.
Guiding questions:
How do you support your teachers individually and in small groups? (coaching menu) I shared my coaching menu with my colleagues at the beginning of the year. I meet at least once a month mainly 1:1 to support technology integration. I have offered extra Tech Tuesday PD but it was not well attended as many teachers are overwhelmed. I also hang a new Potty PD each month with tech tips that is well received.
How do your supports align with PLP and campus goals? I strive to make every conversation connect back to our PLP goals and our Vision for Excellence & Achievement.
How are learning experiences implemented in the classroom? Teachers have met with me after the First Learning Experience to specifically plan how to implement strategies learned. Teachers shared their activities in a padlet.
Do you leverage TLC members to lead peer observations? If not, how can you leverage their expertise? We have not done this yet but one of our TLC members was observed by a colleague. The TLC is sharing their expertise by curating resources around high leverage tech tools and strategies to share with their colleagues.
Guiding questions:
How are you increasing capacity in your student tech team members? Our tech team has grown in their understanding of creating google sites and producing announcement videos.
How has the student tech team supported teachers, students, and families? Our TECH-sperts team has created a website with how to videos and resources for our school community. They also record and share announcement videos.
