The work of schools may be changing throughout the pandemic but the “why” for educators has not. It is our collective goal at HLCS to support our teachers and students with 21st century tools to compete in a globally competitive economy. As the instructional leader of our turnaround school, I lead with passion and intention by supporting our staff with the tools and resources they need to in turn support our students with rigorous, standards based curriculum and access to a future most thought they could only dream of.
My vision is to support technology integration that transforms learning and builds a culture of excellence and achievement for all learners.
I love being a VILS Coach as I can have an impact on learning across all content areas. I support teachers by helping them achieve their goals through technology. I think it's really important to streamline the work we do as much as possible and to be more diligent and purposeful with our time. I appreciate opportunities in which I can partner with a teacher to co-plan and co-teach to try new ways to integrate technology for the students' benefit. This role is so important to break down barriers and close the digital divide for our students.
At Henry Lord Community School, we are deeply committed to improving the outcomes for our constantly growing community of 800+ students and their families. As a turnaround school serving students in grades Pk-8, over 125 students on the autism spectrum, as well as 300 English language learners, we have an obligation to prepare our students for the rigors of high school and beyond. HLCS is a turnaround school in the state of MA focused on closing the achievement gaps for our students. Our efforts to enhance their school experience by developing a “be the one” mentality through a “loveworks” approach has transformed our school culture to a place that works for kids. Our vision of excellence lies in creating rigorous, standards based, engaging experiences for our students. We believe that by exposing our students through the digital world that is now at their fingertips we will enhance their dreams and ability to think beyond what their current reality is.
