One of our hypotheses is that DBI would provide a cost saving for medium sized businesses. There is evidence based on the interviews we carried out that some medium sized businesses perceive that DBI solution could save them money.
One medium sized business said 'That (DBI) would potentially be able to absorb one of our salaries. We seem to have someone in the full time role, continually entering the same information in time and time again. (For contracts, tenders, bids in private sector)’ P8 medium sized business'.
'I think it creates a lot of efficiencies for an organisation, because if you think about the amount of time that we spend, you know, inputting the same data, because every customer's requirements are different, yet you're still mandated to capture that same data. I think it could save a huge amount of time. And so I think there's a big efficiency gain to be had in respect to having a digital identity which means the core information is held centrally so that people can view or not view accordingly'
'If you've got that generic set of information that is the start point for almost any business to business negotiation, then that's really useful. The amount of times I’ve had to provide names of persons with significant control directors details, DUNS numbers, all of that sort of stuff...But if you’ve got that in a central repository in some form of digital identification that answers all of those issues, and, you know, the majority of the big companies are signed up to it. Then yeah, absolutely. I think it'd be really positive in terms of helping business progress.' P5
