Summer Reading
Keep reading those books!
School Supply Lists
Probably should start researching your grade level’s school supply list
We’re asking all students to have “actual” hard copy Bibles as we will not be using the apps on their phones(since, once again, we will not be accessing our phones in class or during the day at all).
Remind Message Groups
Join your child(ren)’s appropriate Remind group (if you haven't already)
The 6th and 7th grade groups do roll over from the previous school year.
Join via one of the links below. (if you have children in more than one, please sign up for all that apply)
(returning DCS students do not need to register again if you've done so already)
It is a two-way communication tool, so you can text me by replying to the text message that you receive. In fact, you can save the number that it comes from in your contacts as Dr. Amidon, which will help you identify it when you receive it.
Pro Tip: you should download the app. https://www.remind.com/apps - it’s not necessary, but if you want to, that's cool too.
We need you to make your selections (if you haven't already) for music, sports, and electives for the next school year. This is your chance to shape your school year with the activities you love most!
Music Choices:
Are you ready to join Band or Choir? Let us know which one you’re interested in, or if you’d like to participate in both! If you decide not to join Band or Choir, don't worry — you'll be automatically enrolled in General Music. Remember, whatever you choose will be your music class for the whole school year. Click here to submit your choice
Sports Interests:
What sports are you thinking about playing next year? This helps us estimate the number of athletes we’ll have for each sport. Check all the sports you’re interested in! Click here to submit This is not set in stone. But the more accurate these numbers are the better we are able to plan for the future, especially when it comes to coaches and schedules.
Electives are coming soon! We’re still finalizing the full list because we’ve hired two new teachers and are waiting on their class titles and descriptions.
We’ll send out the full list and elective form within the next week or so—stay tuned!
All students are enrolled in specials - Art, Physical Education, Freedom Learning (online selection) and Spanish
