Your teacher shared a view-only copy of the Conference Slides with you.
Open the Conference Slides and click File → Make a Copy.
Rename your copy: Your Name, Fall 2025 Conference Slides
Add only your name to Slide 1.
You do not need to change or edit any other slides.
Go to the Student Self-Assessment Script Template assignment in Canvas (Bible class).
As you fill it out, look at your Conference Slides to help guide your answers.
When you finish your script, your teacher will print a copy for you to use when recording your video.
Go to the Fall 2025 Parent-Teacher Conference Reflection assignment in Canvas.
Record your reflection using Google Vids. (Carefully follow the instructions in the assignment).
When your video is done, click Share and copy the video’s URL link.
Important! *Change access settings to “anyone with the link”
Submit your video by pasting that URL into the Canvas assignment (as a website URL).

Slides are ready for you. You only need to type your name on Slide 1.
Have your script ready. Type it out and keep it nearby to read from.
Practice once or twice so you feel confident before recording.
Check your space. Sit in a quiet room, face a light (not with a window behind you), and make sure your background looks okay.
Close all other tabs/apps and open your Slides presentation in a separate window.
Open Google Vids
In Chrome, type vids.new or open Vids from your Google apps menu.
Start a New Recording
Click Record.
Choose “Camera and screen”
Pick this option so your slides show full screen with your face in a bubble in the corner.
Share Your Slides Window
When asked what to share, choose the window with your presentation.
Put your slides in Present mode.
Check Camera & Microphone
Allow the browser to use your camera and mic.
Make sure your face is visible and your voice is clear.
Do a Quick Test
Record 5 seconds, stop, and preview.
If your voice or slides don’t look right, fix it before recording for real.
Record Your Reflection
Press Record again and wait for the countdown.
Read from your script while moving through each slide.
Speak slowly and clearly so your audience can follow along.
Glance at the camera bubble sometimes to connect with your viewers.
Stop and Preview
When you finish the last slide, stop recording.
Watch your video once to make sure everything looks and sounds good.
Edit (if needed)
Trim extra silence at the beginning or end.
Move/resize your camera bubble if you want. (continued on next page)
Save and Share
Google Vids saves your recording automatically.
Click Share and Copy the SHARE link- Make sure ANYONE WITH THE LINK CAN VIEW
Go to the Bible assignment in Canvas, choose Submit, paste your link, and submit it as a Website URL.
Type your name on Slide 1 only.
Use your script to stay on track. The video CANNOT be longer than 5 minutes!
Practice once or twice to feel confident.
Face the light, not away from it.
Speak clearly, and confidently.
Small mistakes are fine — this is about honest reflection, not perfection!
