Final exams for middle school students can have several benefits. They provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding of the material covered throughout the semester. Final exams also help prepare students for the exam format they may encounter in high school and college. Additionally, final exams can contribute to a student's overall grade and provide a sense of accomplishment and closure at the end of the school year. Finally, we have found that in the past when the students only took finals in the spring they did not have an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, meaning, how they studied and prepared for the exam. This additional exam window allows students to learn from their mistakes and also learn from what went well and gives them a chance to implement what they learned from winter finals in the spring finals.
As you continue to navigate through the final exams preparations, please remember the early dismissal at 12:00 PM on exam days. If picking up your child at this time is not possible, please inform us as soon as possible so we can make necessary arrangements for them to remain on campus until their bus or carpool arrives. Additionally, we encourage you to assist your student in adhering to the study schedules they have developed in their core subjects—English, US History, Science, and Math. Following these plans will be key in effectively managing their study time across all subjects.
Thank you for your partnership as we teach your student the important skill of taking final exams.
