Joel Franken

Joel is a 1965 Denison High School graduate. Upon completing his college degree at the University of Northern Iowa, he began teaching art at Denison. Other duties during his tenure included coaching tennis, basketball and baseball. He helped with the State Iowa Decathlon competition which was held in Denison. In art classes, his students were outstanding in art competition and were awarded many honors.

Joel served on the Denison City Council where he had a positive influence on the decision making process. He was actively involved in the Donna Reed Performing Arts Association and worked in developing the Donna Reed Museum. He is deserving of having his name on the Wall of Pride.
